The Mount Pleasant College CUA40920 Certificate IV in Music – Sound Production has been designed to enable already skilled and practising audio engineers and technicians to deepen their understanding of audio, lighting and visual systems as well as gain invaluable experience in event direction and production management for live events and studio projects. If you are looking to further your technical education or gain a qualification to take your career to the next level then this course is for you.

In this course you will…

  • learn the detailed theory and finer art of audio, lighting and visual systems setup and operation in both live and studio environments
  • participate in event direction and production management as you produce live events
  • develop your use of industry leading digital audio workstations as you record and mix artists’ original music
  • become proficient using industry-leading live consoles

Finally you will help to host an industry showcase event in which you and the technical team you lead will be responsible for the audio, visual and lighting production.


As you complete the course you will have gained a considerable understanding and wealth of experience in audio, visual and lighting systems. You will also be equipped to enter the technical industry, taking on greater responsibility. Should you wish to continue further technical education you will be well prepared for entry into a Diploma-level technical course.
