Position: Game Design & Animation Trainer (Part-Time)

 

Mount Pleasant College (Mount Pleasant Baptist Community College Inc.) is the only Registered Training Organisation (RTO) in WA specialising in the Creative Arts and Industry Cert III and IV qualifications. As a vibrant community of creatives we share our passion for Media, Graphic Design, Film-making, Game Design/Animation, Music and Sound Production with learners. By limiting number of learners in classes and creating a flexible and supportive environment, we ensure quality education where learners are valued and set up for success.

 

We are currently seeking applications for a part-time Animation & Design trainer to join our team at an exciting time of growth for the College. In line with the overall strategy of the College and the Media department the incumbent will train Cert IV students in the Game Design & Animation streams, be involved in the development of new material for future units, update of current units, ensure compliance to RTO standards and build encouraging and supportive relationships with students whilst contributing to an engaging team environment. In order to maintain currency in the industry and be relevant, it will be expected of the incumbent to remain active in the Game Design / Animation industry. A strong faith background is welcomed in-line with our College values.

 

The following are key requirements for the role:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or Diploma or above in Design/Screen & Media
  • Hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment – or willingness to complete CIV for/in 2023
  • Competence in 2D & 3D Animation software
    (i.e. Adobe Animate / Blender)
  • Competence in game development software (ie. Unreal Engine)
  • Appropriate and recent industry relevant experience in the field of Game Design & Animation
  • A sound understanding of design techniques and principles
  • Experience in developing concept art is welcome
  • Working With Children check
  • Police clearance

Position: Screen & Media – Film Trainer (Part-Time)

In line with the overall strategy of the College and the Media department the incumbent will train Cert IV students in the Screen & Media (Film) streams, ensure compliance to RTO standards, be involved in the development of new material and the updating of current units, build encouraging and supportive relationships with students whilst contributing to an engaging team environment. In order to maintain currency in the industry and be relevant, it will be expected of the incumbent to remain active in the Screen & Media industry. A strong faith background is welcomed in-line with our College values.

 

The following are key requirements for the role:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or Diploma and above in Film
  • Hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment – or willingness to complete CIV for 2024
  • Appropriate and recent industry relevant experience in the Film industry
  • Competence across a range of editing software – primarily Premiere Pro & Davinci Resolve
  • Competence in managing and operating a range of film equipment – DSLR cameras, cinema cameras, lighting & sound equipment.
  • An advanced understanding of film techniques and principles
  • Working With Children check
  • Police clearance
