Certificate IV in Music

Course Description

ID: CUS40109

Are you performing as a solo artist or in a band looking for ways to improve your stagecraft and song writing? Are you an emerging producer looking to take their music production to the world stage? Or perhaps you are looking for the right training to prepare yourself for advanced music studies. If this is you then check out School of Creative Arts Certificate IV in Music.

You will need an intermediate understanding of music theory, piano skills and proficiency on your chosen instrument to get started in the Certificate IV but once you’re going you will…

  • expand your musical understanding and experience in music theory
  • develop advanced song writing technique
  • extend your use of arranging and music production software
  • study professional performance technique

You will apply your training to your own original work as you create an independent ‘EP release’. This body of work will be crafted, sharpened and recorded in Red Wall Studio. Finally you will host an industry showcase event in which you will perform your year’s work, with your rehearsed band, to the public and music industry representatives.

At course completion you will have gained an advanced understanding of music theory and its application in the studio and on stage. You will be ready to begin working in the music industry and be well prepared for industry work or further advanced music studies.
